In fact, it’s one of the largest wombat sanctuaries in Australia! From orphaned joeys to injured adults, the sanctuary provides a safe space for these iconic marsupials, offering them care, love, and a second chance at life. The team works tirelessly to educate the public about wombat conservation while advocating for their protection against habitat loss, road incidents, and disease.
My husband and I visited the sanctuary located in the Yass Valley, Australia, in 2018, which is just under three hours from Sydney. During our visit, we had the joy of meeting the adorable and adventurous wombats. That visit was truly an eye-opener, inspiring us to start raising funds with the Entertainment Book to help give these incredible creatures a brighter future.
